My Hubbie Finally Has A Quilt!

I cannot believe it has been 6 years since I last posted.  How can that be?

As a busy mom with VERY busy children, I did not realize how fast time has flown by.  Say what you want about the pandemic but it has given many of us the opportunity to slow down a little.  As a result, less time in a car/plane going from rink to rink means more time with family. 💗

Less time in an arena also means I have time to quilt.  The last few months I have been focused on finishing my MANY unfinished projects and learning new quilting skills.  That has meant dealing with my perfectionist personality head on.  I am making progress inch by inch.

One of the first quilts on my "To Do| list had to be for my husband. We have been married for more than 20 years and I have never made him a quilt!  Shocking I know!  I had some Northcott Stonehenge Kids Slapshot fabric hanging about that I knew would be perfect for my Toronto Maple Leaf Super Fan.  I combined Disappearing 9-Patches and appliqued Maple Leafs.  Voila!

Next, it was off to spend some quality time on the long arm at the awesome Whirls & Swirls.

You can't see him behind the quilt top because Hubbie is shy 😁, but he is very happy to finally have his very own quilt.  Even if it took a pandemic to make it happen!

Happy Quilting!

    2. He does! The corner stones are actually from the Patrick Lose quilt pattern Canadian Maple. I have a red version of that quilt in progress but thought Hubbie's quilt needed the maples too!
